Once your mash is complete, lift up the malt pipe, drain the wort and sparge, then remove the malt pipe and proceed to boil.

Simply place the false bottom inside the kettle and install the malt pipe, fill with water and heat to your desired strike temperature, then add your grain and set your desired mash temperature on the digital controller. Setting up and using the DigiMash couldn't be easier. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the BrewZilla, but it does have everything you need to mash and boil all in one unit. With a 9-gallon DigiBoil electric kettle and the DigiMash stainless steel mashing accessory pack included, this is by far the most affordable way to get into electric all-grain brewing. I'm cleaning equipment during that time anyway. The DigiMash system represents the best value in electric all-grain brewing you'll find. Is it the fastest IC out there? Absolutely not but I don't care if it takes a few extra minutes. It's not- it cools faster than my DIY copper cooler and cleans super easy. BTW, reading online about the stainless steel IC with the Foundry makes you think it's junk. Whirlpooling with an immersion cooler can be a challenge. I've heard Clawhammer Supply makes a tall skinny one which works well in the Foundry. My hop basket is OK but since the Foundry is so tall you need a tall basket. The whirlpool attachment would be nice but honestly since I started using a hop basket I have much less trub and crap in the kettle. Since the pump is not integrated with the main unit it's very flexible. I did buy the Anvil stainless pump head (extra cost) to add quick disconnects, but if you like Brew Hardware's version go for it. I sometimes brew without even using the pump (old-school BIAB). You're not locked into a pump so you can do whatever you want.

I can't speak to the Grainfather but have the Anvil 10.5 and love it. Anvil does have a tri-clamp adapter now for the lid which should make it compatible with Spike's steam condenser.

The Foundry has a double wall/insulated construction so just adding a port to the side of the kettle won't be easy and will probably leak. I doubt that particular steam consensor (Steam Slayer) will work on the Foundry. With all this adding up to a pretty penny, does it become more reasonable to just get a better system? I would go with all camlock attachments if running through brewhardware as well vs the push to connect barb fittings. I do also plan to get a whirlpool attachment (also from brew hardware). The question becomes is it worth it to get better hardware like this for long term, or go with the cheaper stuffs. The questions then is do I just go with the recirculation kit that comes with the foundry, or do I get the MKII Stainless pump along with a pump connection kit from brew hardware I plan to go with the Steam Slayer 1.5" TC- Kettle Boil Steam Condenser Assembly I plan to be going with the Anvil Foundry 10.5 for the cornerstone of my brewery. This is forcing my hand to switch to AIO. Last brew day my propane burner bent and spilled wort all over my driveway. I have been brewing all grain out on a propane burner and have been looking to switch to inside brewing. Looking for a bit of a recommendation on direction here.
